What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a system of healthcare that promotes the body’s own self-healing mechanism. It uses natural and traditional methods such as nutrition, fasting, hydrotherapy, exercise and other lifestyle interventions in accordance with five naturopathic principles.
1
Healing power of nature
Our bodies have a ‘vital force’ which can be stimulated or supressed. Promoting the flow of vital force through fresh air, sunshine, clean water, healthy nutrition, exercise, fasting and detoxifying creates the right conditions to support the healing process
2
Treat the cause
Identifying the root cause of an individuals symptom or condition rather than supressing or managing symptoms.
3
Treat the whole person
Recognising individuality involves taking into account any physical, mental, genetic, environmental or social factors, allowing for a bespoke approach to each individuals concerns/goals.
4
Prevention is better than cure
Improving any diet, lifestyle and environmental issues at the earliest opportunity can support optimal health rather than just reacting if/when symptoms appear.
5
Education
By offering my clients a better understanding of how to attain and maintain optimal health and avoid ill health, they are empowered to take responsibility for their health.
